Many of you have seen the Conky desktop monitor in it’s most basic form, that boring desktop side-panel which uses standard fonts to show you your network connection, the time, maybe temperatures for your cpu, possibly you’ve souped it up by editing conkyrc and changed the colours of the fonts. But…………..
Conky can be awesomely hardcore!

Check out this Top 10 list of Conky designs, number 4 is my mate Bruce from Conky Hardcore!, and his design is deservedly in the Top 5 in my opinion.
I have a pretty standard Conky setup which I basically stole from omns at #! Crunchbang forums. Hey! it serves me fine, and to be honest, as much as I try, I get all confused once Bruce and the other Linux Hardcore start talking about .sh scripts and weather scripts then X, Y commands etc on the Conky Hardcore Forum.
Bruce is the Admin of Conky Hardcore! along with an international team of Conky hackers who have provided translations, screenshots and howto guides for CH!.
Conky can be a whole lot more than that plain old sidebar with a clock. Basically it’s only your lack of imagination that can restrict your desktop. The possibilities are endless.
